About the composer: King Oliver

Joseph Nathan "King" Oliver (1881–1938) was an American jazz cornet player and bandleader known for his innovative use of mutes and pioneering role in early jazz. He co-led a band with Kid Ory and formed the Creole Jazz Band in Chicago, contributing to the development of Dixieland jazz and mentoring future stars like Louis Armstrong.
